Event Details

“Folk Tales” is a cultivation of stories through visual art. Two Mt Shasta artists invite the viewer into myths, fables, and fairy tales that describe the conversation between organic forms, the artist, and the cosmos. Visit the SAM website for more information about the artists.

Piper George is a Mount Shasta local with a compulsion to paint and no particular artistic training. She says her pieces describe stories of organic forms, fantasy inhabitants, landscape, and their interactions with the cosmos.
Christine O’Brien began painting in 2014. She says that was the start of her exploration with color and form. She soon discovered that there is a conversation between the artist and the painting. Christine has a tendency towards “story art.”
