How to Add an Event

Welcome! You may add an event in any city within Siskiyou County

 You will be adding either 1 free event, 4 events, or as many as you like with the monthly unlimited plan. These instruction are the same for each of these plans.  You are welcome to contact me with any questions or if the website doesn’t work as expected.  support@mount-shasta-events.com

Steps

Preparation

1.  Create your flyer as an image and save it on your computer.  Canva is a great free resource for creating a flyer.  Ideally the flyer image is portrait orientation 8.5″ x 11″ or about 1500 x 2000 pixels. The most important art or a picture of you is in the top 3rd of the image.  If you have a weekly class on Tuesday’s you might only mention the time and day of the week and the location instead of a specific date.  All of the information about your event will be in your event details.  Your event details are submitted within a form and sent to me for publication.  Images are important for Google and the search engines.  A simple flyer is better than none at all.  Visit Canva.com to create one for free.

2.  Review a few events, especially those similar to yours.

3.  Gather the information about your event.  Location, Category,  Dates,  Days, Details (event description), Flyer Image.  If you are copy pasting your event description from another application it is best to paste it into Notepad or Text Edit to remove any formatting, and then copy paste it into the Event Details area of the event submission form. 

4. Your event location and the location organizer will already have been added to the website choices before you fill out the form to add your event.  The organizer is associated with the location; your event flyer will feature you and your contact information.

The preparation and process may seem like a lot initially, once you do this though you will find it very simple to do again with future events.  The architecture and functionality of the website provides a clean interface for search engines and visitors and provides great sharing options to promote your event!  It is well worth the details that we must add. 

Process

1.  Purchase your 1 free, 4 events, or unlimited month of events.  Begin by selecting Add an Event from the top navigation menu.  No credit card required for One Free event or any free products.

2.  You will have created your password for adding events during the checkout process when purchasing your events.  Make note of your password.

3.  You will receive an order confirmation email.

4.  I will review the location and organizer details and update the website with a new location or organizer if necessary.

5.  I will then email you an Order Note (specific to your plan) with your account username and additional instructions.  The Subject of the email will be Note added to your Mount Shasta and Siskiyou Events order …

6.  You will then access your Account area, fill out the event form, add your flyer, and then submit the event form.

7.  I will receive your event and publish it to the website.

If you need to make changes, you will be able to log in to your account to edit or delete your event.  You may add 12 free events each year using your same login credentials.

Yard Sale Process

1.  Purchase your One Free event by selecting Add an Event from the top navigation menu.  Essentially you are creating an account so that you may login to add your Yard Sale event. No credit card required for One Free event or any free products.

2.  You will have created your password for adding events during the checkout process when purchasing your free event.  Make note of your password.

3.  You will receive an order confirmation email.

4.  I will review the location and organizer details and update the website with a new location or organizer if necessary.

5.  I will then email you an Order Note (specific to your plan) with your account username and additional instructions. The Subject of the email will be Note added to your Mount Shasta and Siskiyou Events order …

6.  You will then access your Account area, fill out the event form, add your flyer, and then submit the event form.

7.  I will receive your yard sale event and publish it to the website.
