In this event we’ll take a short, easy stroll through the
forest to gather materials from nature. We’ll take participants to Mount Shasta
artist Marcus Jung’s workshop where we’ll create art inspired by these objects
and our time spent in nature.
Together we:
-Will learn woodworking and other techniques
-Work with carving and other hand tools with guidance
-Create an art piece from found materials in nature that
you’ll keep
-Share our experience of relating with nature through art
making
Marcus is excited to share this knowledge with you that
you’ll be able to keep for a lifetime. We’ll meet at Marcus Maria Jung’s Tree
Soul’s Art Studio in Mt. Shasta. Please arrive by 10am. The address will be
provided upon registration.
There is plenty of parking available for everyone who has
been invited. MSBEC staff will help coordinate parking.
Please REGISTER if you’re coming AND if you’re bringing any
people with you. We want to have enough stations prepared and food to share.
This is an outdoor experience so dress accordingly and wear
good walking shoes as there is often lots of standing. We will break for lunch
during this three (3) hour course. Please bring your own lunch, we will provide
a snack to accompany your lunch such as peaches tossed with mint. Please let us
know if you have any allergies.
What to expect:
10:05am Circle of intention and sharing of experiences in
nature
10:25am Setup at station and orientation
10:35am Begin carving
12:00pm Stop for lunch
12:30pm Resume carving
1:05pm Wrap up creations
Minors will need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
